    Description

1980s Navajo 3" and 120g Wrought Silver and Turquoise Bolo Tie by Nellie Bain
This is a nicely-crafted, older, large and heavy, Navajo (Arizona)
    Wrought Silver and Turquoise
bolo tie that is set with two nice Kingman
turquoise stones. The overlay silver work and stamping are well-executed, clean, and lovely. Note particularly the reticulated silver background on the right side of the bolo. The tie was made by a Navajo artist Nellie Bain and is stamped with her hallmark initial "N."
The tie was most likely made in the 1980s, and the strap is attached with a sterling silver double "figure-eight" loop.
    The rectangular tie is
3" tall, 2" wide at the top, the entire tie weighs approximately 120g
    . The handmade
    sterling silver
    tips are each 3" long
. The heavy eight-ply black leather comfort strap appears to be the original one and shows almost no wear.
