    "Creature from the Black Lagoon," released in 1954 and directed by Jack Arnold, is a classic science fiction horror film about an expedition in the Amazon that discovers a prehistoric amphibious humanoid known as the Gill-man. The film stars Richard Carlson as Dr. David Reed, Julia Adams as Kay Lawrence, and Richard Denning as Dr. Mark Williams. The Gill-man, played by Ben Chapman on land and Ricou Browning in underwater scenes, becomes fascinated with Kay, leading to a suspenseful and iconic battle between man and monster in the heart of the jungle.
