When you watch a Hopi Kachina dance/ceremony you are seeing the Hopi People representing their gods. The type of dress, symbols, the motions are all part of personating a god. In the Zuni & Hopi Pueblo cultures everything is alive with a spirit. Those spirits represent evil or good and the Kachinas represent those spirits with the powers, the medicine. The Kachinas have been part of the Pueblo way of life for centuries and the symbols, motions, and dress are recognized by the People. Becoming an expert in the characteristics of the gods leads to the next natural step, recreating these gods in the arts. All of our Kachinas are purchased directly from the artist, most of them are Hopi but we do have Zuni and Navajo. We hope you enjoy the pieces we list and if you are looking for something you don't see to add to your collection, ask and we might have it.Hopi Soyok Whuti also known as Monster Women to children that is. She will appear at the Powamu ceremony threatening the lives of the children when they have been naughty and will bargain with a relative to ransom. Monster Women is dressed all in black, holding a blood-smeared knife in one hand and a long jangling crook in the other. She may reach for children with the long crook and threaten to put them in the basket on her back, or to cut off their heads terrifying them. The darkness and dirtiness of the Monster Women will appear on the First Mesa.
Shipping
We ship every day Monday through Friday via USPS Priority Mail. Your order will ship within 48 hours Monday through Friday except holidays. Insurance is included on all orders.
Returns Policy
With every purchase we allow for a provisional 30 day inspection period. If for any reason you do not want to keep an item that you have purchased, simply return the item in original condition within 30 days of receipt. You will be refunded the purchase price. Return shipping not included.
We are extremely reasonable, but the inspection offer is provisional--exclusively at our option. This is a service that most companies would only offer to established account customers. Each of our pieces is unique and carefully photographed. If we feel that the returned piece is in any way damaged, or different than the piece that we originally sent, we will return the item to you and no refund will be offered or made.

If you need to cancel an order, call us immediately. We can cancel an order at no charge before it is shipped.
