DESCRIPTION:  Geraldine Yazzie is a Navajo silversmith who has been creating wearable art for nearly thirty years. She is known for her traditional revival style. as in the case of this remarkable 1st phase revival belt. She is particularly adept in her manner of oxidizing  silver so that the patina seems to be due simply to age of the piece. She pays particular attention to using vintage stamps and sometimes adds small nicks to her pieces to make them look as though they've been worn for decades, as she has done here.  Displaying the stylistic elements of rare Navajo belts of the 1890s, this museum quality belt will be a cherished addition to your collection of the very finest Native American jewelry.
