English-American rock band The Jimi Hendrix Experience performed one of their best concerts at the Berkeley Community Theater on May 30, 1970. This fantastic documentary captured it all, and certainly this poster captures the young legend better than any other poster you'll  ever find on the master rocker!
If you collect rare and vintage film posters, you'll know this is a true 1-of-a-kind. I've been selling and dealing movie poster full-time as a profession for over 40 years now [no other job]. I've had and seen it all. This poster takes the prize for best Jimi Hendrix poster to ever surface in the movie poster world. It's also the rarest too, being it the single only original that has been documented as to survive. Clearly, the poster is original. The mention of the more than obscure "Amsterdam Film Festival" win, which happened upon it's original release solidifies that. I have been trying to find another one of these or any information about this poster for over 30 years now. I have found NOTHING! I believe this poster may be an original British Double Crown, as it is all in English and measures almost exactly 20x30 inches, which is the Double Crown size. It's possible it's US too. I just don't know. What I do know, is that this poster is AMAZING and RARE!
It's also been theorized that this poster is the only surviving example because it may have been recalled because the title of the film "Jimi Plays Berkley" is misspelled on the poster. Berkeley, which is the name of a town, is spelled with TWO (2) EEs. This poster makes the very common mistake of omitting one of them. Needless to say, this error makes this beauty even more of a conversation piece.
I found this poster rolled about 35 years ago. I got it from an advance rock poster collector. The poster had some minor creasing throughout from its original handling. I had it linen-mounted by the best in the US to flatten it out. It worked like a charm, as the poster presents a full NearMINT now. I'd rare the condition

Also, a lot of my buyers request backed poster because it makes framing and displaying the posters easy and safe - without the risk of damaging the original.

beyond that of the poster is the white of the Japanese paper lining the linen border margin. You can see how easy it would be to damage the original poster without that extra margin of protection. The backing makes the poster much safer to handle - it GREATLY reduces the risk of damaging the original.
