M-1956 Suspenders Vietnam Era NOS New In Wrap Regular

M-1956 Suspenders, original issue, brand new. These suspenders are sealed in a package where they were repacked for storage by the US Military in the 1980’s.
Why was the US Army spending money to repack obsolete Vietnam era field gear for long term storage in the 1980’s? I have no idea. But the fact that they did has preserved these suspenders in near mint condition. They may have a little bit of the bluish green verdigris common on metal hardware but it wipes off easily if there.
As they are sealed I can’t promise a specific date, but every one I’ve opened so far has been the same FY 1966 contract date.
I got these from the back stock of a surplus dealer who closed his shop in the early 90’s and had been storing everything since.
