The Dry Creek turquoise mine is located on the Shoshone Indian Reservation in Nevada. Dry Creek mine produces turquoise that  forms where there are no heavy metals present, unlike all other types of turquoise. To date, no other vein of this turquoise has been discovered so when this current mine runs out, that will be the last of it. Because this turquoise is as rare as the sacred buffalo, it is sometimes called “Sacred Buffalo” Turquoise.
