Navajo M. Cayatineto King's Manassa Turquoise ~Repousse & Stamped SS Concho Belt

Navajo
artist Martha Cayatineto is known for working in a revival style and her expertise in repousse and stamping. This striking concho belt is a terrific example of her talent. The belt has nine conchos and a buckle, all Sterling silver, all featuring beautiful repousse and stamping. The buckle has a cluster of ten King's Manassa Mine green turquoise cabochons with very fine tan matrix. The oval central cab is 1/2" x 1/4" and the nine round cabs are 3/16" in diameter. The conchos are attached with copper keepers to the black leather belt, and the buckle is tied to the belt with a Sterling silver rosette. The back is stamped Sterling and with Martha Cayatineto's very memorable mark, MC (followed by a square). This is a wonderful retro style concho belt and a great addition to any collection.
