This wonderful Ketoh was made by the talented Zuni artist Cecilia Iule, the daughter of the famous Horace Iule. It is believed that he was the first Zuni smith to cast silver jewelry. Cecilia's work is featured in may collections, museums and publications. A few of those are listed below. She began her career in jewelry in the 1960's. This Ketoh features 16 large Sleeping Beauty Mine Turquoise that have been carved on top. It was made by Cecilia using the now popular Tufa Casting technique that her father Horace was the primary innovator of in the history of Zuni jewelry. It is guaranteed to be Sterling Silver and authentic.
This amazing Ketoh is full of character and will may be recognized by many people. There are no defects and the leather is thick and flexible. Of course, it is the Sterling Silver Tufa Cast work and 13 Sleeping Beauty Mine Turquoise stones that steal the show! The Ketoh and its various parts shows only very light signs of wear and the Sterling Silver has a soft tarnish patina. When you wear your Zuni Ketoh others
may compliment you and your taste in jewelry. It is big but is not huge.
I have other Navajo and Zuni Ketohs for sale on eBay right now, if you have an interest...
Thanks!
Shipping anywhere in the USA is included, of course...
