Description
You are bidding on a signed Sterling Silver bolo featuring a large Carico Lake turquoise center stone and a coral stone to the side, with ornate hand carved flower embellishments around it. The bolo was created by Wil Vandever, the Navajo Artist who lived from April 1951 to October 2018. It bears his hallmark "W C V" (the C is for his wife, Cora). The Carico Lake turquoise stone is approximately 1 1/4" tall by 7/8" wide, and the coral stone is 5/16" tall. The overalldimensions are approximately 2 1/4" x 1 3/8"wide. The leather braided cord measures approximately 38" long with the tips. Each tip is approximately 2 1/4" long. Top to bottom the cord is approximately 19" tall, but of course it will hang shorter when the cord goes around the neck. The height of the bolo is adjustable with a secure hidden clasp on the back as shown.
This bolo comes from a relative's smoke free home, and we believe it was purchased in the 1960's to 1970's based on the usage of "Bennet Pat. Pending" on the clasp during that period. Please note that I have other bolos from the collection listed on eBay. Please use the blue "see other items" link to find them among the items I have on eBay, or use the blue "contact seller" link to write to me and I will provide the specific auction numbers.
Winner should send payment within 2 days of close of auction.
Good luck bidding!
