Vtg NAVAHO VJP STERLING SILVER HAND TOOLED SIGNED 12-CONCHO BELT

Description

This is a beautiful and rare Native American sterling silver concho belt, bought on a trip to Albuquerque in 2000. The main concho piece is stamped sterling on the back and initialed "VJP". Vincent James Platera is a renowned Navajo artist. There are a total of 12 silver concho pieces. The main pieces weigh 22 grams and the main buckle concho, weighs more but I can't properly weigh it with the leather belt attached. Each of the oval conchos is unique, with different designs and motifs. There are no two pieces alike. I have truly loved this Navajo concho belt and took very good care to preserve its original condition. The leather strap measures 42" x 1". Each concho slides easily allowing the belt to adjust to your desired waist  measurement.
